Winter wedding at hotel Maria Cristina of San Sebastian

Good morning everyone!

The wedding, that we are going to talk about today, was the first of our 2018 season. It happened in the middle of winter as it took place on January 13, which, as you would imagine, was very, very cold … Our couple Adriana and Iñaki live in Australia and decided that this date was the ideal time to get married as it matched with their summer vacations. According to Adriana, it was very important for her to create a cozy space in which all the guests felt really comfortable and could enjoy the pleasant rooms of the Hotel María Cristina in San Sebastian.

We were clear from the beginning that to achieve that goal we had to create a comfortable, warm and intimate space and above all a winter atmosphere. The decoration of the María Cristina Hotel is classic with modern touches, so our decoration line had to go in that same direction. We use colors related to winter such as garnet, touches of gold, green and taupe. Also, we gave a lot of importance to the lighting with candles that brought that wintery and comfortable touch to the whole event. We wanted to convert the dining area into a mysterious forest, we used trees that were lit with candles and the tables were small forests decorated differently each. We designed the menus and decorated each napkin with a beautiful loop of garnet velvet that was spectacular. Adriana got ready at the Hotel Londres and was made up and combed by SolerBmak, which left her beautiful. Her dress was by Rosa Clará and on her head she wore a wreath of winter style.

The ceremony was in the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd and we followed the same line of decoration as in the hotel. Lanterns to illuminate, branches, winter flowers were the protagonists. Adriana, after the ceremony included in her outfit a layer of precious garnet velvet that gave her an aspect of Queen of the snows. In addition she also made gifts for the guests. More than 150 jars to choose between brownie recipe or hot chocolate cup with marshmallows. They literally flew !!! A simple wedding but with many details.

We love making weddings in winter so we encourage you to think about dates other than summer because the decorative possibilities are endless. I hope you like this wedding and enjoy it as much as we did during the design of it.

Rustic wedding on a txakoli winery near by San Sebastian

Good Morning! Today we are featuring the wedding that we organized and designed on July 7th, San Fermin Festivities day. Francisco and Olga, a couple who despite living in Madrid, chose San Sebastian and the surroundings to get married. For both it was going to be their second marriage and, perhaps that’s why they were clear from the beginning that what they wanted was to enjoy their day together with their family and friends and not worry about everything else. So after numerous emails, calls, WhatsApps, meetings and others we managed to design one of the best days of their life. The place chosen was a txakoli winery located very close to San Sebastian with a spectacular natural environment among vineyards that captivated us from the first moment we went to visit it. Directed by Roberto Ruiz and his team who do a fantastic job. Olga, the bride, decided to dress and makeup in the same venue, the one in charge of doing it was Amaia Make up. It was clear that she did not want to be the typical bride dressed in white and, therefore, decided to dare with a beautiful feather skirt designed by Cristina Piña combined with a white blouse, which gave her a point of incredible sophistication. She was beautiful!

Although during the week leading up to the wedding we had the threat of rain and feared until the last moment that the rain fell, in the end luck was on our side and the ceremony, lunch and dancing were done outside. The idea was to create a familiar and intimate atmosphere, since there would be only about sixty guests and the couple wanted to do something simple. We framed the area of the altar with a beautiful square arch of white and green flowers that was at the same time background for the couple during the ceremony.

The groom walked down the aisle at the hand of his mother and the bride chose his two sons as godparents. It was super exciting to see how all the guests got up to meet them and between applause and smiles of happiness welcomed them to that great moment they were about to live.

Roberto Ruiz, a great friend of the couple, was the one who celebrate the ceremony. It was a very emotional, intimate and family wedding, although there were also laughs. But the best of all is that you breathed a lot of happiness among all of them and that’s what we like most about weddings, see. our couples happy and enjoying their great day. After the ceremony and as a surprise for the couple, two basque dancers (named dantzaris) danced the aurresku (the dance in honor of the couple).

After the ceremony, the best thing awaited them: the reception. The local chef Roberto Ruiz and his team prepared several food stalls where guests could taste an endless number of Basque Gastronomy products (talos- corn tortitas made at the moment-, oysters, cheeses, Tolosa beans …) decorated with Basque aesthetics, as well as as the tasting of txakoli from the own barrels and beer, which did not leave anyone indifferent. We managed to create an informal and family atmosphere in which all you had to do was enjoy and eat.

As it was the main day of San Fermin festivities, and as a surprise, during the cocktail we recreated the inaugural rocket, we distributed red scarves for everyone and shouting ¡Viva San Fermín! we launched the rocket. Super fun!

After the reception, the food was still waiting for them! As there were not many guests, for the decoration of the tables we were inspired by those wonderful films of great family meals with endless elongated tables, between vineyards «italian style» .. come on from the most Provencal! The result was amazing! We created a large table in the shape of a «U», which we decorated with red checkered tablecloths on a white tablecloth. For the centerpieces we put pots with different aromatic plants that each guest could then take as a souvenir. The meal consisted of a light salad and a T-bone steak with red peppers cooked on the grill in view of the guest.

Next to each plate was a can of olive oil with the personalized label with the names of the newlyweds, as well as the name of each guest on the napkins, so that everyone knew where to sit. As a curious detail, the bride wanted to make a surprise wink to her best friends by placing a tangerine on their plates and, only they understood the meaning! For women we put a pashmina on each chair as a gift.

It was a wedding full of details and, for the time of the dance there was also some espadrilles in case some wanted to get rid of the heels, that always comes well …

It was a different wedding and we enjoyed organizing and designing every detail so that everything would be perfect that day. Thanks to all the suppliers that made it possible for everything to be perfect and, especially to the couple, Olga and Francisco for trusting us to be present on this day.

Boda hippy-rústica-marinera en Finca Itxasbide Parte III

Buenos días!!

con el post de hoy terminamos la serie sobre la boda de Patricia y Félix.

En este primer post os hablé sobre la decoración de la ceremonia, el rincón de bienvenida y el cocktail, en el segundo post os hablamos sobre los complementos del look nupcial de los novios y en este tercer post os enseñaré la decoración del interior de la carpa, el sitting o plano de mesas, centros de mesa, candy bar y muchas cosas más…

Tras el cocktail todos los invitados se encontraban con este sitting ideado por nosotras… los nudos marineros fueron obra de Félix, que como os dije, es un experto buceador. Los hizo uno a uno para cada uno de sus invitados y por partida doble… ya que cada invitado tenía otro nudo exactamente igual que el que había en la estructura sobre su plato a modo de decoración y también para facilitar la búsqueda de su mesa.

Además del nudo marinero, sobre cada servilleta había una minuta que había sido personalizada por Patricia y también tenían incluido su broche de la Barandilla de La Concha realizado por el padre de Félix, con un mensaje de agradecimiento.

Los centros de mesa diseñados por nosotras estaban dispuestos en cestos de mimbre y estaban realizados con flores rústicas en tonos rosas y fucsias.

La zona de la carpa destinada para el baile la cubrimos con un montón de guirnaldas de pom poms en los colores de la boda (lila, morado y magenta). Le confería un aspecto de fiesta de pueblo, informal con un toque divertido. Aportaba un toque de color a un interior tan blanco.

No podía faltar un candy bar, lleno, llenito de chucherías y de cositas ricas!! Cómo no tenía que tener mucho colorido!!

Esta maravilla que veis es una tarta!! sí, sí una tarta realizada por el novio totalmente comestible que reproduce el fondo marino!! como veis unos novios muy manitas y súper detallistas!!

Patricia pensó en los mayores y en los más pequeños que también tenían su regalo… para los bebes un cochecito con su nombre y para los peques una hucha con forma de perro personalizada para cada uno!!

Unos novios previsores ya que dispusieron un Cigar córner para que ninguno de sus invitados se tuviera que preocupar del tabaco.

Patricia había comprado estas mariposas y a nosotras nos pareció una buena idea utilizarlas para decorar las cortinas de la carpa…

Como ya os hemos enseñado en otras ocasiones no podía faltar un beauty córner para que tanto la novia como sus invitadas siguieran guapísimas durante todo el día.

Y ya para terminar una vista general del exterior de la carpa con la zona chill-out que colocamos para que los invitados pudiesen disfrutar de ese maravilloso paisaje!! Espero que os hayáis hecho una idea de la boda tan bonita que organizamos!

Nosotras desde luego disfrutamos muchísimo y nos quedamos súper satisfechas del resultado!

La boda de Cristina y Txetxu en Itxasbide

Buenos días corazones!!

tras un tiempo desaparecida de la blogesfera vuelvo al redil con una de las primeras bodas de nuestra temporada 2014.

¡Qué decir de mis queridos Cristina y Txetxu! Una pareja con la que sintonicé muchísimo y nos lo pasamos de escándalo organizando juntos su boda… esas reuniones de los lunes en los que las risas se mezclaban con la limonada pensando en nuestra boda exótica-colorida-a la par que elegante!!

Cristina una novia nada clásica se había encargado el vestido en Estambul y estaba inspirado en la gran diva del cine Katherine Hepburn… No sabéis lo guapa que estaba… y Txetxu cuya preocupación era que no faltaran sus farolillos blancos!!!

Una suerte poder trabajar para esta pareja con la que disfruté muchísimo en todo el proceso de organización…

Los farolillos de Txetxu… no podían faltar… eran un must!! 😉

Diseñamos una boda que huía del estilo rústico, queríamos algo sofisticado y exótico… Los tonos elegidos blanco con toques de fucsia… Utilizamos farolillos de papel, cintas blancas y fucsias, montamos una mesa de limonada que quedaba perfectamente integrada con los espectaculares puestos de comida que montaron el Catering Divinus liderado por mi querido Josetxo Arratibel.

Estas sombrillas reforzaban la estética «exótica» con la que queríamos impregnar el estilo de la boda. Más de uno y de dos se enamoraron de ellas…

La carpa espectacular en la que predominaba el color blanco. Las guirnaldas aportaban un toque de color y sofisticación. Además del toque exótico. Las flores utilizadas fueron orquídeas y dendobium.

En cada plato dispusimos unas pequeñas guirnaldas que servían para decorar. Nos pareció y nos sigue pareciendo un detalle muy delicado y elegante.

Los novios pensaron en esta boda para que tanto ellos como sus invitados disfrutaran del entorno. Por ello el cocktail fue muy largo y había puestos de comida por todas partes (cortador de jamón, show cooking de gambas, show cooking de foie, puesto de quisquillas)… todo delicioso!!! Tampoco faltó un fotomatón, ni un candy bar y lo mejor de todo fue el tiempo que tuvimos digno del mejor día de verano siendo pleno mayo!! Tanto los invitados como los novios disfrutaron de un día espectacular.

El candy que diseñamos seguía la misma línea que habíamos planteado para la boda tanto en color como en estética. Fue el centro de todas las miradas y no sobró N-A-D-A!! Nos gusta saber que nuestros candys son un éxito!!!

No me quiero olvidar de mencionar a todos los proveedores con lo que tuvimos la suerte de trabajar!!Hugo el DJ de DJ4Bodas, el delicioso catering servido por Divinus Catering, las espectaculares fotos son de Mandragorastudio, la decoración floral corrió a cargo de Villa María Luisa!!! Gracias a todos!! y seguro que coincidimos más!!

¡¡Cumpleaños sorpresa!! los fabulosos 50

Hace ya muchos meses Alejandro contactó conmigo, me comentó que su mujer cumplía 50 años y que le hacía mucha ilusión organizarle una fiesta sorpresa. Así fue cómo empezamos a fraguar esta fiesta en la que desde luego la cumpleañera fue sorprendida.

Dado que 50 años, es una fecha muy especial en la que se supone que se alcanza un status importante y en la que todavía es una edad muy buena para hacer cosas, decidí plantearle a Alejandro que la fiesta se titulase «los fabulosos 50» y que predominasen los tonos dorados. Por eso de la edad de oro, las bodas de oro que son 50 años, etc… y por que es muy elegante y clásico para la noche.

Lo primero que hicimos fue las invitaciones, en las que predominaban varios mensajes pero el más importante es que era una sorpresa y no le podían decir nada a Mari Paz. Los colores nácar y dorado.

Y… llegó el día de la fiesta… hasta la rivera navarra nos desplazamos Ana y yo para montar toda la decoración del restaurante. Había dos áreas a decorar la sala cocktail y el comedor donde sería la cena.

En la zona donde tuvo lugar el cocktail lo decoramos con muchas velas y con unos globos gigantes dorados en los que se tenía que leer «fabulosos 50» pero se nos estalló la letra «B» y se leía los «faulosos 50», todo el mundo se rió muchísimo con esto ya que pensaron que estaba hecho adrede (nada más lejos de la realidad). Lo utilizamos a modo de photocall y todos los invitados según entraban se hacían fotos allí. También hubo un grupo de jazz que se encargó de animar todavía más el ambiente. En un momento dado apagamos todas las luces y todo el mundo se quedó en silencio a la espera de que Mari Paz hiciera su entrada con los ojos vendados. Cuando los 120 invitados gritaron ¡¡sorpresa!! la cara de ella era de alucine, no se lo esperaba para nada… todo el mundo había guardado el secreto…

Tras el cocktail todos los invitados pasaron al comedor. Iluminamos el camino con velas para darle un aire más íntimo y especial.

Antes de acceder al comedor todos los invitados tenían que pasar por esta preciosa mesa que decoramos con los mismos tonos de toda la fiesta, dorado, blanco y el toque alegre de las craspedias, flor de la que estoy enamorada por lo agradecida que es.

En cada flor enganchamos una tarjetita en la que los invitados debían buscar su nombre así como la mesa que les había sido asignada. Fue súper divertido ver como los invitados se buscaban, se escondían las tarjetas y algunos hasta se ayudaban. Implicamos a los invitados en el juego de buscar su sitio y creo que repetiremos ya que se lo pasaron genial.

El comedor estaba decorado con rosas blancas, pompones dorados en las columnas y muchísimas velas.

Cada mesa tenía una foto de Mari Paz en las distintas fiestas del pueblo, ya que en lo que coincidieron Alejandro y Asun (amiga de la homenajeada y que nos ayudó muchísimo durante todo el proceso de planificación) es que no se pierde ninguna fiesta de su pueblo.

Como detalle especial cada servilleta estaba envuelta en un lazo dorado con una tarjeta en el que se leía «los fabulosos 50 de Mari Paz».

Y como en todo cumpleaños no puede faltar una tarta. Al igual que el resto de la decoración los colores fueron el dorado y el blanco. La tarta era casi una réplica de la invitación y la encargada de realizarla fue mi querida Mar de Tartas Mar Dulce. Colocamos bengalas sobre la tarta y repartimos entre todos los invitados mientras cantaban Feliz Cumpleaños.
Fue una fiesta inolvidable para los invitados pero sobre todo para Mari Paz. Según tenemos entendido terminaron cuando empezaba a amanecer. Así fue como Mari Paz estrenó sus «fabulosos 50».
